Weekly Guardian Token Hunt: Rules and Rewards

Join EVOWOW’s Saturday Guardian Token Hunt. Learn how to start, follow the changing weekly objectives, collect tokens and return in time for your Golden Box.

An Event Guardian holds a fractured magical seal while an adventurer returns five tokens beside a Golden Box.

Got a level-80 character and an hour on Saturday? Join the Weekly Guardian Token Hunt. The Guardians are holding back a threat behind a broken seal, and they need you out in the wilds recovering its scattered power. Pick up the quest, hunt this week's targets, collect your tokens and get back in time for a Golden Box.

The hunt changes every week. The box is still your reward, but what you find inside comes down to its drop chances.

When do we start?

Be ready every Saturday from 18:00 to 19:00, server time. Server time follows Bulgaria's summer and winter clock changes, so check the time difference if you play from another country.

Collect your tokens and turn in the quest before 19:00. That is one shared event window, not a personal one-hour timer. Arrive at 18:40 and you have 20 minutes left. When the event ends, the Guardians leave, token drops stop and turn-ins close. Plan your trip back instead of waiting for a final countdown.

How do I join?

Bring a level-80 character from either faction. While the event is active, find an Event Guardian in a capital city and pick up Prove yourself!

  1. Take the current quest first. Do this before heading out to farm.
  2. Read this week's objectives. Your quest log tells you which creatures to hunt, where to find them and how many tokens you need.
  3. Collect all five token types. Follow the quantities in your quest log.
  4. Head back before 19:00. Any Event Guardian can take the full collection and give you your reward.

Make room in your bags for the tokens and your box. Your collection of "I'll vendor this later” loot can sit this one out.

What changes each week?

Your hunting targets and required quantities can change. Each quest asks for 5–20 of each of the five token types, so check the new objectives before following last week's farming route.

Each token has two possible creature sources listed in the quest. Farm either one or switch between them—both count towards the same total. You do not need a separate collection from each source. Use the current quest description for your targets and locations.

Still carrying an unfinished quest from last week? That will not unlock this week's drops. Pick up the current quest, even if the title looks the same.

How do I get the tokens?

You are collecting Guardian's Ember, Guardian's Sigil, Guardian's Pearl, Guardian's Crystal and Guardian's Essence. Hunt the outdoor creatures named in your current quest while the event is active.

Tokens are chance-based drops, so not every kill gives you one. Some types are rarer than others. A few empty kills can simply be bad luck; check your objectives before deciding you are in the wrong spot.

You can keep collecting tokens beyond your own requirement to help other players. Drops continue while you have the current quest, even when it is ready to turn in, but stop once you hand it in, abandon it or the event ends. Tokens in your bank count towards your requirement too.

Can I bring my party?

Absolutely. Grab some friends and hunt together. Everyone collecting drops needs the current quest and must be eligible to loot the creature. When a token drops, eligible party members can each get their own copy, even if they already have enough for their own quest. You do not have to split one token between the whole party, and you can trade spare tokens to help each other finish.

Normal loot rules still apply. Being in the group does not automatically give you loot from every kill, so stay together and keep an eye on your own quest progress.

The quest does not force you into PvP. Your character's usual PvP rules and the rules of the area still apply.

Can I trade tokens or keep them for next week?

You can trade tokens directly with other players. They no longer bind when picked up, so friends can share spare tokens or hunt for one another. You still cannot mail them or list them on the Auction House.

Each token stack expires after six hours of real time, including time offline. Trading a stack keeps its remaining timer. Adding tokens to another stack uses that stack's remaining timer, and splitting a stack does not buy extra time. Saving a stash for next week will not work.

That six-hour timer does not extend the event. Your turn-in deadline is still 19:00 on Saturday.

What loot am I playing for?

Finish the quest and hand it in to receive one Golden Box. You can earn one box per character from that week's event, then come back next week for another hunt.

The Golden Box currently stays the same even when the objectives change. Open it for gold and a chance at item rewards. The contents have their own drop chances, so your friend's box may look different from yours. Completing the quest guarantees the box, not a particular item inside.

Complaining about RNG in guild chat is traditional, but it does not improve your next roll.

No tokens dropping? Check these first

  • Is the event still running? Drops only happen during the event window.
  • Do you have the current quest? An old unfinished quest will not do.
  • Are you hunting the right mobs in the right place? Follow this week's description and hunt outdoors. A similar creature somewhere else may not count.
  • Have you already handed in or abandoned the quest? Further drops stop then. Having enough tokens in your bags or bank does not stop drops while you still have the current quest.
  • Can you loot the kill, and do you have bag space? Being nearby or in the party is not enough on its own.
  • Have you allowed for a few unlucky kills? A token is not guaranteed every time.

Do not rely only on quest-target hints over creatures. A valid target may have no hint, so use the names and locations in your quest description.

What if I miss the deadline?

If you have not handed in the quest when the event closes, you cannot collect that event's box afterward. Keeping the quest window open or logging back in will not extend the deadline.

You can try again next week with the new quest and its new objectives. For this week, check your route, watch your progress and leave enough time to get back to a Guardian.
